Paul W. Carlson, CPA (00:00):
To run report that lists all current client trust accountbalances and activity for a selected period, we run a client ledger fromSoluno. So to get there you go to Views and Reports, Contact, Ledger, the viewname, or the report name is Ledger Trust. We set our dates and we hit Go.
(00:27):
So looking at the report, this column gives us the currenttrust or the trust balance at the end of the period for every matter that hastrust money. So here's all the detail.
(00:43):
Then down here we can see total trust balance. And evenhere we can see trust balances by responsible attorney. So from this, we cansee exactly which matters have trust money. Here we can see the transactionsfor the current period so here is our example we've seen in a couple of priorvideos.
(01:05):
Really nice feature of this report is it shows the lasttrust entry. So trust accounts, we want the balances to go to zero, and wedon't want balances to be carried forward forever.
(01:19):
So in this example, we're looking at a report datedNovember 9th, 2018. And the last time this matter had trust account activitywas January 6th, 2015, which is three years ago. So this tells us we need tounderstand what's going on with this matter and potentially refund the trustbalance, or understand why are we still carrying the balance.
(01:48):
And with that, it's how you run a client ledger report.
